FOSTER CARE PROGRAM

Thank you for your interest in our Tallahassee Foster Care Program.
We appreciate your willingness to open your heart and home to homeless cats and kittens. Your dedication allows our organization to rescue felines that we would otherwise have to turn away due to limited space in our current foster homes or at the Adoption Center. We provide all the initial supplies necessary for you to have a wonderful experience helping homeless cats - food, litter, crate, bedding, etc. We will give you a time frame for the length of your foster and you may wish to participate in helping place your foster in its new adoptive home. The guiding mission of the Foster Care Program is to give cats' individualized care and socialization to prepare them for adoption. Information gathered during the foster process helps us place cats/kittens in homes and with families who can best meet their needs. Specific goals of the program include:

Foster Application. NOTE: Only an adult, parent or legal guardian can complete and sign the agreement as it is a legal document.

We are pleased and honored that you have selected Smitten With Kittens as the organization to share your valuable time. There's so much to do for felines who have been rescued from homelessness, neglect or abuse.
The world of animal rescue can be demanding, heartbreaking and exhausting. Most of the time, however, it is so gratifying that you won't be able to imagine life without the reward of saving these precious lives. We hope that your time with us will be worthwhile and that you will look forward to each moment that you spend with SWK. Because of volunteers like you, we are able to dedicate our financial resources to the direct care of our animals. In addition, our volunteers provide extensive socialization, handling and training of our felines so they can become valuable members of their future families. If you are interested in volunteering, please download
our Volunteer Agreement. Please either email or bring it to a Saturday adoption event. 
If you are under the age of 18, your parent must complete and sign the Junior Volunteer form. And in most cases they must be available to volunteer with you.
