That was the question I asked myself before I found Smitten with Kittens. And now I am able to help in a very rewarding way!
Hello Everyone, my name is MaCayla, I would like to tell you a bit about myself and then we can move on to talking about something way more interesting than me... The Kittens! Perry and Zane! I am 17 and a Senior at Ronald Reagan High School in Doral. We just moved to Florida from Idaho. I wanted to do some volunteer work, however, things don't always pan out the way you'd like them to. So the volunteer work was taking a back seat. I had way to much going on such as: In Idaho I took US History, and World History there it counted as 2 different History's, here it doesn't. So night school here I come. There were a lot of other little odds and ends that I am having to try to get taken care of because of the different requirements from state to state so I also have to take online school. So you can sort of see my problem, I really don't have the time to actually drive somewhere and truly help in a work type environment so, I asked myself: How can I help? Amazingly, I was talking to someone in one of my classes (Not sure if he'd want his name to be told so I'll leave it out for now.) and he told me that he was going to be picking his foster up that night. And then he told me a bit more about Smitten with Kittens; I was more than interested! I could actually help! I love cats, dogs well I just love any animal. But this was just the thing for me. So here I am I've met some truly awesome people already and I look forward to meeting more. I am sure you all have heard enough about me so lets get onto the more interesting subjects:)

Perry and Zane:
Perry and Zane are very shy they didn't want to come out of their kennel for a while. Once we got them out of the box they really didn't want any contact with us, all they wanted to do is find something to hide under. They are both doing great not showing any aggression at all. My dog has decided she wanted to check things out. Perry was actually just as curious. Perry let Leia (my dog) smell her as well as lick her. Then she'd go away from her and come back and try to smell Leia a bit more. Zane however, he's not that sure about Leia, he doesn't seem to mind her as long as she stays in her place and him his. We brought them home last night about 8pm. So just had enough time to get them set up then go to bed. So today we made sure we played and boy did they play hard. They are very fun kittens once they get comfortable. They are still real shy and don't want to be picked up but I have got them to go in and out of their kennel without a problem at all. I am keeping the door open so that they can come and go in there as they please, they seem to find it a little safe haven. Right now it seems like Perry follows Zane everywhere he goes. So we did separate them for a couple hours (one with me and the other with my sister Adalyn) so we could try and get them to loosen up and it's working. I am hoping by the end of this week they'll allow us to hold them and cuddle. We will work on it anyway!:)
Thank you for taking the time to read. I look forward to sharing more of my adventure with the kittens with you tomorrow! Have a wonderful day:)
